The Spring League currently has only one week left until the Mega Bowl. So far this year we’ve seen a good amount of players already get signed by the CFL and even the NFL. Today, we have two more names to add to that list.
Just now, it was revealed that Cole Boozer and David Brown would be heading north of the boarder to join the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL.
Two #TSL2021 North Division offensive linemen are heading a little further north.
Congrats to @BOOZclues_ of the #TSLLinemen and David Brown of the #TSLAlphas on signing with the @MTLAlouettes!#TSLinCFL https://t.co/cg7FZPHsQa

David Brown most recently served as offensive linemen for the Alphas. Brown was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 CFL Draft by the Calgary Stampeders following a standout career at Western University. He was a two-time First-Team All-Canadian who would have been a top-ranked prospect were it not for an unfortunate injury. After a short sting with the Spring League, Brown is headed back to the CFL.
Cole Boozer is a name that many XFL fans will remember due to his time with the DC Defenders. As of late, he’s been spending his time with The Spring League North Division leaders, the Linemen. After working hard in the XFL and TSL, he has earned a shot to move to the CFL, joining Brown on the Alouettes.
The CFL is targeting to return August 5th, but pending the course of Covid this date could shift. As of this writing, CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie is committing to the CFLPA that they will have an answer June 14th. The league is also set to hold a Board of Governors meeting the same day to vote on the proposed August 5th start date.
Although it’s not finalized just yet, it seems that the league is moving forward and planning to play at sometime this year. With signings happening daily, it looks as if there shouldn’t be any issues with a delayed 2021 season.
This is just another example of how The Spring League is supposed to function. The league is giving players the opportunity to showcase their skills to extend their career. With one week left in the 2021 TSL season, we expect to see more signings after the Mega Bowl. Not to mention, with the USFL returning next year, we could see a lot of these guys move into the new league.
