Is Johnny Manziel holding out for the XFL?

Manziel says football is ‘Absolutely’ in his future

When discussing his future with TylerPaper.com over the weekend, Johnny Manziel said “absolutely, football” is what he plans to do. The report also said the former Browns player “looks in shape.”

Last week the XFL sent out its first wave of Commissioner’s invites for the upcoming XFL Draft. We’ve seen a slew of Summer Showcase attendees announce that they have received theirs, but no official list has been made public that lists the names and number of invites that were sent out.

Ever since Manziel was “banned” from the CFL last year there have been rumors that he has had his eye on the league. We’ve even heard XFL Houston Head Coach/General Manager June Jones say that he’d be open to coach him again.

Manziel has even stated himself that he’d be open to play in the XFL, specifically stating that he’d love to be in either of the Texas markets. We’re only a couple months out from the XFL draft, and everyday we’re hearing more information on the event and the invites. I have said it for a long time, I fully expect to see Johnny Football in the XFL, but we should know soon enough.
