Some XFL Team Names Potentially Leak Prior To Announcement

It’s been a wild ride for XFL fans. From the build up in 2019, to the short season in 2020 due to COVID and now the leadup to the 2023 return.

Under new management, the league has announced their host cities, coaching staffs, and much more. But, many are still waiting to learn the team names and logos for 2023.

Earlier this week XFL Las Vegas head coach Rod Woodson joined the Pat McAfee Show, where he mentioned that XFL team names and logoes would be revealed next week.

Since then, the individual franchises have been reaching out to previous season ticket holders and XFL Huddle members about happy hour events next week. It would only make sense that the XFL would celebrate the team identities with the fans.

Leading up to the big announcement we’ve been under the impression that the names would be a mix of new and old. Well, it seems that we may have some insight on what is on the horizon.

The XFL Shop has been doing some work behind the scenes, and many followers have sent us screenshots of what seems to be some of the new team names.

As for the new names, here’s what is shown:

  • Arlington Renegades
  • Orlando Guardians
  • San Antonio Brahmas
  • Seattle Sea Dragons
  • Vegas Vipers

Now, these could be placeholders. The XFL Shop page also shows Dallas Renegades, Houtson Rougnecks, Seattle Dragons and the rest of the old monikurs.

As it stands, this seems to be the full list of team names in 2023.

  • Arlington Renegades
  • DC Defenders
  • Orlando Guardians
  • Houston Roughnecks
  • San Antonio Brahmas
  • Seattle Sea Dragons
  • St. Louis BattleHawks
  • Vegas Vipers

But with the name reveal right around the corner, it is interesting that these just appeared on the shop today. The good news is, we won’t have to wait much longer.
