This week the XFL was scheduled to host happy hour events in various host cities across the country. It was rumored that these were coincideing with the much anticipated release of the XFL Team names and logos.
With the first event set to take place tomorrow, the league sent out a notice to everyone that RSVP’d to let them know that due to Hurrican Ian they would be rescheduling.
With the events bumped, presumably until next week, does that mean that the league will hold back from revealing the team names? Possibly.
XFL co-owner Dany Garcia put out a post on Instagram joking that she was asking Siri to cancel her schedule for Wednesday and Thursday. These are the same days that the XFL events were originally set to take place.

Although Hurricane Ian may not impact a majority of the XFL locations, it looks like they would rather wait for all the cities to be able to celebrate at the same time.
It seems that the team name announcement may be postponed, but there’s possibly have some insight on what is coming.
Last week we reported that the XFL may have accidentally leaked the names on their online shop. Late Thursday night the shop had a page that seemed to show the upcoming identities for each franchise. Logos were not included, but the names were a mix of old and new.
- Arlington Renegades
- DC Defenders
- Orlando Guardians
- Houston Roughnecks
- San Antonio Brahmas
- Seattle Sea Dragons
- St. Louis BattleHawks
- Vegas Vipers
Shortly after the XFL shop was scrubbed of these names, and Friday afternoon the league took the shop down.
It’s unfortuante that this hurricane has possibly put the news out a bit, but it (hopefully) won’t be much longer until everything is official.
The happy hour events are expected to take place next week, so we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
