The Spring League Names Ryan Mallett As Starting QB For Generals

As The Spring League’s 2021 season quickly approaches, they have been making quite a few announcements regarding players, coaches, and teams. In their latest post, it was revealed that former Ravens, Patriots, and Texans QB, Ryan Mallett, would be the starting quarterback for the Generals.

The 32 year old is looking for another opportunity, and the TSL may just turn out to be the perfect place for him to find one. The league will be playing a six week season, starting in May, which will give him plenty of chances to once again show the world what he is capable of.

Not only that, but the Generals have a lot of their roster coming back from the 2020 season. Under the leadership of Bart Andrus (who is also back to coach the team), the Generals went undefeated and blew past the Aviators in the Championship Game.

Now with Ryan Mallett at the helm, the Generals certainly have another solid chance at making a championship run.

Mallett is best known for his stints in Baltimore and Houston, as he was a starting QB on both of those teams at one point. He also served as a backup QB to Tom Brady on the New England Patriots.

He also was in the XFL 2020 draft pool, but never ended up getting taken by a team.

The Generals will be playing Luiz Perez and the Jousters in their first game, on May 8th, which should be a fun showdown.
