Just one day from now the deal between Dany Garcia, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and RedBird Capital will be finalized and the XFL will officially have new owners. Since the announcement was made earlier this month there has been a lot of chatter online on when the new ownership group would attempt to return to play.
We may get some clues on when the XFL will make its triumphant return by looking at recent betting props posted by MyBookie.
Will the XFL Play a Game in 2021?
- Yes +300
- No -500
Will the XFL Play a Game in 2022:
- Yes +155
- No -220
As you can see the odds-makers are favoring a 2022 XFL return over a swift 2021 attempt. As we mentioned above, the deal between the new ownership group and the league is still not finalized, so these odds may change depending on what happens shortly after they take over.
Regardless if the league returns in 2021 or 2022, we think it’s safe to say you can mark down a yes for game play in 2023. When the XFL does return we think it’ll continue the momentum we say prior to its shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We’ve already seen the new ownership group receive glowing reviews from publications that weren’t always so friendly to the XFL. That combined with the sheer notoriety of Dwayne Johnson, things seem to be looking good for the football league.
