With a majority of the football world waiting on the outcome of the CFL/XFL discussions, we have some sad news to report. Former DC Defenders lineman Chris Brown has been found dead at the age of 24.
USC Trojans coach Clay Helton said Sunday that former offensive lineman Chris Brown has passed away at the age of 24.
Heartbroken to hear the news that we lost Chris Brown today,” Helton wrote on Twitter. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Brown family. Chris meant so much to so many. Great person, player, teammate, and Trojan. God bless my friend. You are forever in our hearts.”

Today the XFL acknowledged Browns death on social media, stating that their thoughts are with the entire Brown family.
The XFL is saddened to learn of the passing of Chris Brown, a member of @XFLDefenders during the 2020 season.

At the time of this writing there is still no cause of death listed for brown. It’s always sad to see someone with so much potential gone at such an early age. Everyone here at XFL Newsroom will be keeping the Brown family in our thoughts.
