Last week we reported that XFL players would be come eligible to sign with NFL teams starting today at 8am EST. First, as expected, we saw PJ Walker get snatched up by the Carolina Panthers. Walker isn’t the only Roughneck to draw attention. We’re just now learning that Deatrick Nichols has signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints.

Nichols was the XFL’s leader in interceptions (3) and made the All-XFL Team. We all knew the Houston Roughnecks were good, it seems that NFL clubs took notice as well. Nichols is the second player to make the jump from the XFL to the NFL, we’ll keep you posted as more players make the shift.
