Now That The XFL Has Been Purchased, What News Will Break First?

In Case You Missed It, Here’s the Latest on the XFL

As previously stated, the new XFL will be completely different from the 2020 rendition. Whether it be business partners or staff, there will be changes; there’s a new ownership group after all. After some digging and conversations, here are some tidbits of information I have come up with that some fans may have missed.

The new XFL is not prioritizing bringing back staff from the 2020 season. However, this does not mean they will not bring back some employees from that era. So far, all but one of the employees revealed where with the league in 2020. The lone employee is Jay Rothman, who is an advisor for the league in the production area.

A key thing to look for is the XFL’s start month. Will they start after the Super Bowl like they used to, or will the league kick off in a month like April. Determining what month they start in will likely answer if they follow XFL 2.0’s timeframe or not. So part of the hold up on news could be the fact that they do not have a target month yet. It is a safe assumption to make that once that month is determined the floodgates will open, however the league is just too unpredictable right now.

The St. Louis BattleHawks currently have a sitting lease with The Dome. The big question is who has the lease, is it Alpha OpCo or Alpha Entertainment? If it’s with Alpha Entertainment the lease will need to be renegotiated. If the lease was transferred to Alpha OpCo then the league will need to reinstate and extend the lease. According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch back in October the league and The Dome Authority have had those conversations. Since then it has been radio silence.

If you are a fan who had a slimmer of hope that Oliver Luck would come back that hope has probably diminished. The former XFL commissioner has been brought in as a consultant for the BIG 12 conference. I would like to again Thank Oliver Luck for everything he did with the league. His help went a long way and was huge for the future of the league.

Finally, if you missed my last article I invite you to go check it out. I also would like to urge patience. The XFL is and has been doing things behind the scenes, however the time has not come for the next major announcement. When the time comes we will be here and give you the latest.
