Jerry Glanville to join XFL Tampa Bay as Defensive Coordinator

Former NFL head coach and Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive coordinator Jerry Glanville is set to join Marc Trestman as Defensive Coordinator of the upcoming Tampa Bay franchise.

Glanville’s year with the Ticats was his first season back coaching since he was at the NCAA level as head coach at Portland State University from 2007 to 2009 and the Vikings were 9-24 while he was at the helm. The Perrysburg, Ohio native is best known for his time as an NFL head coach with the Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons. He amassed a 63-73 career win-loss record while going 3-4 over four playoff appearances.

This is the second hire of the day for Trestman. Earlier today we revealed that Redblacks Offensive Coordinator, Jaime Elizondo would also be joining the Tampa Bay franchise as the Assistant Coach. So far, it looks like Trestman is bringing some of his friend from the CFL. We’ll keep you updated if any more information comes in.
