As we learned that the XFL would be returning in 2022, one thing all fans have been wondering is who would be retuning. When we look back on the shortened 2020 season, I think we can all agree that everyone one and off the camera went above and beyond to bring the best version of spring football we’ve seen in a long time.
Former Houston Roughnecks head coach June Jones joined “After Hours with Amy Lawrence” on CBS radio to discuss the unique 2020 NFL season as well as give his perspective into a locker room facing adversity during a season.
During the interview Coach Jones broke some HUGE news! He seemingly confirmed that he’ll be returning as a head coach in the XFL.
During his time with the Houston Roughnecks Jones led the team to an undefeated 5-0 record, becoming the only undefeated team in XFL history. Since the league was forced to suspend he has stated his interest in returning, so it’s great to see some confirmation.
When asked point blank if he would return to the league as a head coach, he said bluntly.. YES! He didn’t say that he would be retuning to Houston specifically, but we’d say it’s a safe bet.
UPDATE: June Jones has since commented on the matter saying that he meant if asked he would return.

As of now, this would have been the only re-hire or even hire that has been confirmed since the new ownership group has taken over. We’ll keep you posted as more information comes out on this story.
