Justin King to join XFL as Manager of Football Operations

Assistant Recruiting Coordinator for Penn State, Justin King has been hired by the XFL as its Manager of Football Operations, an XFL spokesperson told PennLive on Thursday.

King, who starts with the league next week, will work under Senior Vice President of Football Operations, Doug Whaley.

An All-Big Ten selection in 2007, King was one of Penn State’s first five-star recruits. He went on to play offense and defense for the Lions, as he played receiver in 2005 ended the season with an Orange Bowl victory before starting for two seasons as a corner.

King was drafted in the 4th round (101st overall) by the Rams in the 2008 NFL Draft, where he spent two seasons, missing his rookie season due to a torn ligment in his toe during the Rams first preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. He signed with The Colts, but was dropped after the fifth week and picked up by the Steelers for the remainder of the season.
