As you know by now the XFL has suspended day-to-day operations and laid off of their staff members, but as of yesterday they have also filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Whatever little hope fans had that the league would return in the near future went out the window with the announcement.
Only one of the eight XFL markets did not have a local NFL team, because of that the St. Louis BattleHawks were arguably the XFL’s most popular franchise. The BattleHawks were poised to pack upwards of 50,000 people into The Dome for their next home game that never came due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today St. Louis BattleHawks Team President, Kurt Hunzeker, joined the Bernie Mikalasz Show to talk about the last days of the franchise. Hunzeker talks about his shock upon hearing the news and how they were planning years ahead for upcoming seasons.
He speaks very openly about his thoughts and his love for the city and the other members of the BattleHawks teams. Definitely worth a listen, you can check it out below.
