LA Wildcats Taiwan Jones Asks Eminem to Bring an XFL Franchise to Detroit

A former XFL linebacker asked a legendary rapper on social media whether he was going to get his own team after he learned that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was part of a group that bought the league Monday along with Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital.

Taiwan Jones, who played for the Los Angeles Wildcats before the league abruptly folded because of the coronavirus, tweeted that Eminem should bring an XFL team to Detroit.

Jones played in all 5 of the Wildcats game this season and finishing with 15 tackles.

That being said, this wouldn’t be the first time that Eminem would be interested in spring football. Back when the AAF was still a product he Tweeted his thoughts on the Iron/Express game, also hinting that he wanted a team in the D.

We don’t expect Eminem to make to jump from rap god to sports mogul anytime soon, but we wouldn’t mind seeing a team in Detroit sometime in the future. As a Detroit Lions fan no longer living in the Detroit area, I wouldn’t doubt if the locals wouldn’t mind another football team in the city that may bring some better luck.

In recent interviews with new XFL co-owner Dany Garcia, she seems open to the idea of expansion, just not in the immediate future.
