New XFL Game Ball Design Shown in Message From Dany Garcia

Today the XFL news went from a complete draught to a massive tsunami. After many months with nothing the XFL announced their first hires under the new ownership group.

Last month it was revealed that Jeffrey Pollack would be stepping away from his role with the XFL, but the league didn’t take long to fill the role. Earlier today the XFL put out an official press release outlining their 9 executive team hires.

With the press release the XFL also made a few updates to their website. First we saw the shuttering of the XFL Shop. When visiting the online shop now you’re greeted with a message that it will return in 2022. Additionally, the XFL updated their careers page. Although there’s no listings at the moment, it looks like their ready to start their recruitment efforts soon.

Hidden in the message from the XFL earlier we also got a possible tease from co-owner Dany Garcia. If you look closely, you’ll notice something… a little different. The XFL game ball she’s holding has a slightly different design than what the league used in 2020.

From the looks of it, it seems to be a variant of the St. Louis BattleHawks game ball.

The notable difference, if you haven’t caught it yet, is the addition of the alternating colored sides of the ball. The 2020 version of the XFL game ball featured the home teams logo and colors, but using the X-pebble football colored pattern for the rest.

Is this a sign of things to come in the new XFL Shop when it reopens in 2022? We sure hope so!

What do you think of the new XFL game ball design? Do you think they’ll end up using this or is this just a prototype? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below or join the conversation on Discord.
