Oliver Luck joined Mike Florio on Pro Football Talk to discuss the situation with the AAF, the rule testing the XFL is conducting at The Spring League and much more.
Florio asked Luck directly if the rumors are true that Charlie Ebersol met with the XFL this past December to discuss merging the two leagues. Luck denied that there were any conversations officially between the two companies, but did leave the door open to the fact that Vince and Ebersol may have spoken privately.
When asked what days the XFL is planning on playing their games, Luck said that for most of the season the games will be played on Saturday and Sunday. He said those are traditional football days, and he wants to keep it that way. Although, he did mention that late in the season the league will test a few games on Thursday night. He also verified that the XFL has buy-in from their broadcast partners.
Luck went into great detail on the innovations the XFL is currently testing at The Spring League. I won’t go into detail here, hear all the good stuff from the man himself, or read the write-up we did from TSL over the weekend.
I’m only going to touch on the new items that were disclosed, the full interview is about 30 minutes long, and I suggest every XFL fan listen to it in full:
