Since XFL players became eligible to sign with the NFL (or any other league) we’ve seen a numbers of big names make the move. First we saw PJ Walker head to the Panthers, Deatrick Nichols to the Saints, Jordan Ta’amu to the Chiefs and earlier we saw Darvon Askey-Henry join the New York Giants and Donald Parham join the Chargers.
We have another Roughneck making the jump to the NFL. This time it’s linebacker DeMarquis Gates. According to Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston, Gates has signed with the Minnesota Vikings.

Gates played college at Ole Miss and has spent time in the AAF, NFL and most recently the undefeated Houston Roughnecks. He produced 53 tackles and five forced fumbles in the AAF, and he racked up 32 tackles, one sack and an interception in his time in the XFL.
This is the sixth XFL player that has signed with the NFL, proving that the XFL is a viable option for players looking to advance their careers. We expect to see more signing over the next few days, stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
