It’s only been a little over an hour since the XFL released the last two clues toward the team identities. Now we’re starting to hear some rumors that one of the teams will be named the Vipers.
XFL News: team names and logos are expected to be announced very soon. Source states one of the names will be “Vipers”. Not a joke, nor can I confirm if Randy Orton will play on the team. I don’t know what city The Vipers will represent as of now.

According to @WrestleVotes on Twitter, they have a source that states that one of the franchises will adopt the “Vipers” identity. At the time there is no location named. If this turns out to be true, we’d guess that the name would be associated with the first or the fifth clue put out by the league.
Shortly after the last set of clues were released we released part two of our deep-dive into the images supplied to us. In the article we had speculated that this was an image of a snake, or a dragon. Taking the color-scheme into account we had guessed that this would be used for Seattle. Interestingly enough, Vipers was not one of the five names the league had trademarked.
That leaves us a few options. One, this rumor is incorrect. Two, it is correct and the corresponding image is correct but the location is different. Lastly, it’s possible that everything is correct and the league is using a different name for Seattle than previously thought.

UPDATE: The XFL has officially announced that the Team Names will be announced this Wednesday at 12:30 PM EST.
