Last week we reported that former St. Louis BattleHawks tight end Connor Davis had been signed by the New York Jets. This news came amidst a slew of former XFL players receiving tryouts for other NFL franchises in the lead-up to the 2020 kickoff.
Now, unfortunately we’re learning that Connor Davis has been cut from the Jets to make room for safety Anthony Cioffi.

The 6’8″, 260-pounder also played for the Birmingham Iron in the Alliance of American Football (AAF). A Stony Brook product, Davis was invited to the New York Giants rookie mini-camp in 2018 but was never offered a contract. He played in 41 collegiate games and totaled 6 catches for 41 yards. Davis took snaps at TE, OT and DE for the Seawolves.
Connor Davis joined the BattleHawks from Team 9 after Cole Hunt was injured during the teams opening weekend match-up against the Dallas Renegades.
It’s unfortunate to see, but with the NFL season creeping closer we wouldn’t doubt if Davis gets another shot with a different team before the season kicks off.
