The Rock Reveals Why He Purchased the XFL

The Rock calls XFL “More Than a Business Acquisition”

It’s always a good day when one of the XFL owners posts something about the league. In The Rock’s latest XFL-related post to Instagram, he spoke about the “extra motivation” he has had since purchasing the league. His goal as new co-owner of the league is to provide opportunities to these pro athletes to live out their football dreams, while being able to provide for their families.

In the post, he says:

“XFL is much more than a big business acquisition – it represents an idea. The idea of opportunity. As an owner of the XFL, that’s my priority – create opportunities for players to live out their dreams, feed their families and ball out – XFL style.”

Johnson then talks about his football career, and boasts about what he calls “upper body violence”. He even jokes about playing in his own league: “maybe I’ll be the first owner in pro football history to actually suit up and play in the game. No doubt, I’ll get my ass whupped”. While he is being sarcastic, one can only dream about what it would be like to see The Rock take the football field on an XFL squad. Talk about everything coming full circle.

At the end of the day, it is fantastic to see the passion that both Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia have for their new investment. They are 100% dedicated to getting the league up and running again, and are both fully invested in providing the best opportunities they can for these athletes. The new era of the XFL will be an exciting one, that’s for sure.
