2020 may not have went the way we had all hoped it would, but that’s not going to stop us from looking at the best (and worst) moments of the 2020 XFL season. The year started out with all of us waiting in anticipation for the return of XFL football. It wasn’t long after before the COVID-19 pandemic overtook the world and forced the XFL to suspend their season just halfway through. The XFL wasn’t the only league to cancel, quite the opposite.
The unfortunate news is that because the league was so early in its development, it couldn’t sustain the financial blow. It wasn’t long after the XFL suspended the season that we learned that the league would be filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. When all things seemed dire, out of the shadows Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson and RedBird Capitol saved the day and purchased the XFL.
