Almost everything that made the American Alliance of Football a league — helmets, shoulder pads, water coolers, jerseys, athletic tape and numerous other items — sold Wednesday in a San Antonio bankruptcy court auction at a bargain-basement price.
The collection of equipment went for measly $455,000.
The winning bidder, Jerry Kurz, was a former commissioner of the Arena Football League. Kurz beat out the XFL, which we reported a while back were after the same assets. The XFL looked in good shape to acquire the lot, but at the end they lost out on this one.
